Russia is giving its passport in its captured cities of Ukraine

Russia will give citizenship to all the people of UkraineIn the midst of the Russo-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order to extend the scope of Russian citizenship to all Ukrainians. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Ukrainian officials have not commented on Putin’s announcement.

Until now, the process of Russian citizenship was simple only for people from Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk region as well as Southern Zaporizhia and Kherson region. Significantly, Russia has control over a large part of these areas. In the year 2019, the process of granting citizenship was first started for residents of Donetsk and Luhansk. At the same time, in the year 2022, Russian passports were given to about 18 percent of the population of both the rebel-held areas, or more than 720,000 people.

In May 2022, three months after the attack on Ukraine, a fast-track process was also started for residents of Zaporizhia and Kherson region. Russian passports were given to people in these areas about a month ago.

Russia’s bombing continues: Meanwhile, Russia’s bombing continues in Ukraine’s second largest city Kharkiv where 3 people were killed and 31 injured on Monday. Earlier, Russian troops fired three missiles at several important sites in Kharkiv, which Ukrainian officials have described as a “terrorist act”.

Zelensky claims to have driven out Russian forces: Kharkiv Governor Oleh Sinihobob said on social media Telegram that the attacks were carried out using multiple rocket launchers. Sinihobob said a shopping center and a residence in Kharkiv were targeted. Several vehicles were also damaged in these attacks. Along with this, the attacks of Russian troops are continuing in the eastern part of Ukraine as well. Luhansk Governor Serai Haidai said the attacks were carried out on settlements bordering the Donetsk region. At the same time, Ukrainian President Zelensky has again claimed that with the help of Western countries, the Russian army will be driven back.

On the other hand, Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that if European countries continue with sanctions against Russia, then its people will have to face the consequences. This will have an impact on oil and gas prices.
