Relief from heatwave soon!( heatwave)

New Delhi: North-west, central and eastern India are likely to gradually get relief from scorching heat  ( heatwave) during the next 2-3 days. The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall to continue in Northeast India during the next 4-5 days. According to the IMD, on Friday, the weather center in Kanpur recorded the highest temperature of 48.2 degrees in the country. Sirsa in Haryana was the second hottest place with 47.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 47 degrees Celsius in Ayanagar, Delhi.

According to the Meteorological Department, during the last 24 hours, heatwave conditions persisted in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, many parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, parts of eastern Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, some areas of Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, western Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Chhattisgarh. Heat wave conditions have been prevailing in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Rajasthan since May 17 and in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh since May 18.

It was hot even on Friday night in many areas of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 48.3 degree Celsius was recorded in Sriganganagar (West Rajasthan) across the country.

The IMD has said that heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places in Meghalaya. Very heavy rainfall occurred at some places in some areas of West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Bihar, Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh on Friday. Hailstorms have been reported at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttarakhand.

The Meteorological Department has said that the southwest monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of the north-east Bay of Bengal and some parts of the north-west Bay of Bengal, the remaining parts of Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam and most parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Conditions are favorable for further advance of monsoon into some more parts of Central Arabian Sea, rest of South Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area and Kerala, parts of Karnataka, some more parts of Tamil Nadu and southwest Bay of Bengal during next 2-3 days.

IMD has said that, strong winds with speed of 30 to 40 kmph along with thunder and lightning are likely over Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh during next five days. Light or moderate rainfall may occur with this. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada during June 2 to 4. There is a possibility of rain in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal on June 1.
