Vientiane (Laos): Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a special meeting with the Prime Ministers of Australia, Japan and New Zealand in Laos ( Laos) on Thursday. During this, he also met the heads of state of many other countries and discussed strengthening bilateral relations with India. PM Modi met his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba here for the first time. Ishiba became the Prime Minister of Japan just last week. After meeting the PM of Japan, he discussed ways to increase cooperation in various fields including infrastructure, connectivity and defense.
