Parliament special for five days(Parliament )

New Delhi. During the all-party meeting called by the government on Sunday, a day before the five-day Parliament    (Parliament ) session, many parties insisted on presenting the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. In the all-party meeting, many leaders said that this long pending bill should be introduced and it is hoped that it can be passed with consensus.

The bill has a provision to reserve one-third seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. Sources said some regional parties have demanded quota for backward classes and scheduled castes within the overall reservation for women, which has been a significant hurdle in the passage of the bill in the past.

‘Government may surprise everyone with some new agenda’
Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, who attended the all-party meeting, said, ‘All opposition parties demanded passing of the Women’s Reservation Bill in this Parliament session.’ Choudhary told reporters that the government has informed the leaders that this is a regular part of the Parliament. It’s session. He said, ‘Only the government knows what its intentions are. She can surprise everyone with some new agenda.’ The Congress leader said that in the meeting his party raised issues like inflation, unemployment, situation on the border with China.

BJP ally and NCP leader Praful Patel said, ‘We appeal to the government to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill in this Parliament session.’ He said, ‘We hope that the Women’s Reservation Bill will be passed by consensus when it is presented in the Parliament. It will be passed.’ Patel said that Parliament will be shifted to the new building on Tuesday on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

Many regional parties including Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) also insisted on introducing the Women’s Reservation Bill. BJD and BRS leaders said they will insist on introduction and passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in the five-day session. After the all-party meeting, BJD leader Pinaki Mishra said that a new era should begin with the new Parliament building and the Women’s Reservation Bill should be passed.

‘Decision on women’s reservation bill will be taken at the appropriate time’
Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that tribute was paid to the security personnel who were recently martyred in Kashmir in the all-party meeting. Regarding the demand of the parties on the Women’s Reservation Bill, Joshi said that a decision in this regard will be taken at the appropriate time.

In this meeting, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Deputy Leader of the House in Lok Sabha and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi represented the government. While Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, former Prime Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda, DMK MP Kanimozhi, TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu, Trinamool Congress’s Derek O’Brien, Aam Aadmi Party’s Sanjay Singh, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, BRS leader K. Keshav Rao, V. Vijayasai Reddy of YSR Congress Party, Manoj Jha of RJD, Anil Hegde of JDU and Ram Gopal Yadav of Samajwadi Party participated in the meeting.
