New Delhi. There are frequent reports of drunken passengers misbehaving during flights. One such incident took place on Friday, when an inebriated passenger tried to open the emergency door flap of IndiGo’s Delhi-Bengaluru flight while it was still in the air. Seeing his action, the crew member informed the captain of the aircraft. Captain warned that person on the spot. After this, when the plane landed at Bangalore airport, that person was handed over to CISF.
“A case has been registered against a 40-year-old drunken passenger for allegedly trying to open the emergency door flap of Delhi-Bengaluru Indigo flight,” an official release from Indigo said. This incident took place in flight number 6E 308 that took off from IGI airport at around 7.56 am on Friday morning. Giving details of the entire incident, Indigo said that ‘a passenger traveling on flight 6E 308 from Delhi to Bangalore tried to open the emergency exit flap in an inebriated state.
Indigo Airlines said in its statement that ‘after noticing this movement, the crew on board alerted the captain and the passenger was immediately alerted appropriately. No compromise was made on the safe operation of that flight. On reaching Bengaluru, the passenger has been handed over to the CISF. Further investigation of the matter is going on.
