New Delhi: Monsoon has covered the whole country. The process of rain ( rain) continues in many states of the country including the capital Delhi. It rained in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday as well. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the sky may remain cloudy in Delhi for the next six to seven days and there are chances of intermittent rains. On the other hand, intense spell of rain is likely to continue in South Peninsular India and North Maharashtra till July 6 and in Gujarat till July 8.

The Central Weather Forecasting Agency has issued an alert for heavy rains for several districts of Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal till July 8. The IMD said in the latest weather bulletin that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to continue over southern India during the next three days.
‘Orange alert’ issued in Kerala
For Wednesday, IMD has issued ‘Orange’ alert for 12 districts of Kerala and ‘Yellow’ alert for one Kollam. For Karnataka, the weather office has issued an ‘Orange’ alert for six districts – Belgaum, Uttara Kannada, Bellary, Shimoga, Chikmagalur and Dakshina Kannada. In the western region, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in coastal areas of Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during the next five days and in Gujarat on July 6 and 7.

There will be more stormy rains in Gujarat
IMD has said that on July 5 and 6, there is a possibility of very heavy rain in Konkan and Goa and coastal areas of Madhya Maharashtra and on July 7 in Gujarat. For Gujarat, the IMD has issued a ‘Red Alert’ for three districts – Amreli, Gir Somnath and Valsad and a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Surat, Navsari, Bhavnagar, Botad and Surendranagar for July 7.

In the northern part, heavy rains are likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh during the next five days. There is a possibility of heavy rains in East Uttar Pradesh till July 6 and in Punjab and Haryana till July 8. There is a possibility of heavy rains in eastern Rajasthan from 5 to 8 July and in western Rajasthan on 7 and 8 July.
