New Delhi: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi ( Modi) here on Wednesday. This was the first meeting of the two leaders after Janata Dal United (JDU) chief Kumar joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and formed the government in Bihar with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Nitish Kumar reiterated that he will not leave NDA again. After his meeting with PM Modi, Kumar met Home Minister Amit Shah and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President JP Nadda and is believed to have discussed several governance and political issues related to Bihar.
The meeting came five days before the Kumar-led government faces a trust vote in the Assembly on February 12. JDU leader Kumar will also meet other top BJP leaders during his first visit to the national capital after leaving the ‘Grand Alliance’ in Bihar on January 28 and returning to the NDA.
Bihar Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha (both from BJP) met the Prime Minister on Monday. According to JDU sources, during Chief Minister Kumar’s meeting with top BJP leaders, issues related to Rajya Sabha elections in the state may also be discussed. Six Rajya Sabha seats are falling vacant in Bihar, elections for which are to be held on 27th February.
