New Delhi. From today, the work of the country’s Parliament will be shifted from the old Parliament building to the new Parliament building. Many programs will be organized on this occasion. On the occasion of visiting the new Parliament House, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take a copy of the Constitution (constitution) of India from the old Parliament House and go to the new Parliament House built in the same complex. Along with this, the members of Parliament will follow PM Modi on foot. On this occasion, Members of Parliament will receive a copy of the Constitution, books related to Parliament, a commemorative coin and a postage stamp. A gift bag will contain these gifts for the MPs.
The new Parliament complex was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on 28 May. Today the second day of the special Parliament session will be held in the new building. While the Rajya Sabha meeting will be held at 2.15 pm in the Upper House chamber of the new Parliament House, the Lok Sabha meeting will be held at 1.15 pm in the Lower House chamber of the newly constructed Parliament House. Before this, there will be a photo session outside the old Parliament complex at 9.30 am. After this, a special program will be organized at 11 am, which will focus on the historical heritage of the old Parliament House. Which was inaugurated on January 18, 1927 by the then Viceroy Lord Irwin. Along with this, a resolution will be taken to make India a developed country by 2047.
Special program will be held in Central Hall
This program will be addressed by PM Modi, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, former PM Manmohan Singh, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren and Union Minister Piyush Goyal. This program will conclude at 12.35 pm in the Central Hall. Maneka Gandhi is the longest serving MP in the Lok Sabha. Manmohan Singh is the longest serving MP in the Rajya Sabha and Shibu Soren is the longest serving MP in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
Speaker Om Birla, PM Modi will address in the new building
After entering the new Parliament building, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, PM Modi and Congress’s Adhir Ranjan Choudhary will address the House. On Monday, PM Narendra Modi thanked ‘every brick’ of the old Parliament House. PM Modi said that the MPs will enter the new building with new hope and confidence. He said the last day in the old Parliament House should be dedicated to the more than 7,500 MPs who have served in the building since India’s independence in 1947. On moving Parliament to the new building, PM Modi described it as a moment ‘connecting the past with the future’. He also talked about various historic decisions and achievements of Parliament over several decades.
