Man stabbed 17 people after entering the train

Tokyo Police officials said the incident took place inside a Keio train near Kokuryo Station. The motive of the attacker was not immediately known. Several fire brigade personnel, police officers and paramedical personnel saved the lives of the passengers. The attacker was arrested on the spot. It is only known about him that his age is around 20 years and the investigation of the case is going on. Services were partially suspended after the attack.
A major incident of knife-pelting has come to light in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. A 24-year-old man attacked a commuter train car with a knife, injuring 17 passengers. The condition of 2 of them is said to be critical. The attacker came wearing Batman’s Joker clothes. He first attacked with a knife and also set fire to the train car. The attacker was arrested on the spot. At present, his interrogation is going on.

During the attack, many passengers were seen running by jumping from the windows of the train. In a video, passengers are seen running from another compartment, where flames were rising.
A second video posted on Twitter shows people climbing out of windows to avoid a Keio Line train at a station. The line operator reported that the incident happened around 8 p.m. (local time) near Kokuryo Station in the western suburbs of Tokyo. Services were partially suspended after the attack.

NHK said the suspect, after stabbing the passengers, poured an oil-like liquid and set it on fire. Shunsuke Kimura, who made the video, told NHK that he saw passengers fleeing and that when they tried to find out what had happened, they heard an explosion and saw smoke rising.

A 20-year-old boy who was on the train at the time of the incident told NHK that at first I thought it was due to Halloween celebrations, but as soon as a man came with a big knife, I ran away. He said that I am lucky that I was not injured.

This is the second incident of knife attack inside a train in Tokyo in two months. Earlier in August, a day before the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, a 36-year-old man stabbed 10 people on a passenger train in Tokyo. The suspect later told police that he wanted to attack a happy looking woman.
