New Delhi: Rain continues in many parts of India. Although the activity () of monsoon rains has slowed down in many states but it is still in its form in many states. In view of heavy ( heavily ) rains in parts of Uttarakhand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued a ‘red alert’ for the hill state. For here IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rain for 13 and 14 August.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department issued Orange Alert for Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, in which ‘heavy to very heavy rain’ has been predicted in the region for the next two days. The IMD has advised the local people to refrain from visiting water-logged areas and areas with weak structures.
According to the Meteorological Department, scattered to fairly widespread rains are expected in northwest India. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been predicted at isolated places over states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in the next few days. According to IMD, due to a western disturbance in the mid-tropospheric western winds, isolated heavy rains are expected in many areas.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and isolated heavy falls over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam & Meghalaya. There is a possibility of heavy rain at places.
In the coming days, widespread rains are expected in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and other states. Heavy to very heavy rain will also occur in some areas. Similar weather conditions have also been predicted for states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
