New Delhi. On Saturday, 535 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Delhi. According to the data shared by the Health Department of Delhi Government, the infection rate is 23.05 percent. On Friday, 733 new cases of Kovid were reported in the national capital with an infection rate of 19.93 percent, which was the highest in more than seven months.
On 26 August 2022, 620 cases of infection were reported in Delhi. On Thursday, 606 cases were registered with an infection rate of 16.98 percent, while one person died of the epidemic during this period. On Wednesday, the city recorded an infection rate of 26.54 per cent, the highest in nearly 15 months. During this, 509 people were found infected in a single day.
According to the health bulletin, the death toll from Kovid-19 in the city is currently stable at 26,536. After the arrival of new cases in Delhi, the number of infected people has increased to 20,13,938. On Friday, 2,321 samples were tested. Amidst the sudden spurt in H3N2 influenza cases in the country, there has been a sharp rise in new Covid cases in the last several days.
Instructions to hospitals, polyclinics to speed up investigation
Meanwhile, in view of the rapid rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the national capital over the past few days, Delhi’s health department has directed hospitals, polyclinics and dispensaries to increase testing. Sources gave this information on Saturday. From March 30 to April 7, more than 3,800 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the city.
Sources said that the department has directed hospitals, polyclinics and dispensaries to increase Covid testing. A source said, “These health centers have been told to get a Covid test done on arrival of any patient with symptoms like fever, cough, body ache, as the number of daily cases is increasing continuously.”
