Kathmandu. Nepal has put fugitive radical separatist Amritpal Singh on its watch list on the request of the Indian government to prevent him from fleeing elsewhere. India has requested the Government of Nepal not to allow Amritpal to flee to any third country and arrest him if he (Amritpal) tries to escape using an Indian passport or any other fake passport. It is believed that Amritpal is hiding in Nepal.
Officials said that the Immigration Department has kept Amritpal on its watch list on the request of the Government of India. Kamal Prasad Pandey, information officer of the department, said, “We have received a written note from the Indian Embassy and have also received a copy of Amritpal’s passport. India has expressed apprehension that Amritpal may have entered Nepal. Pandey said, “The Indian Embassy has written a note requesting the department to put separatist Amritpal on the watch list.”

Amritpal Singh has multiple passports with different identities
Singh is believed to be holding multiple passports with different identities. Punjab Police started action against Amritpal on March 18, since then he is absconding. Radical separatist Amritpal dodged the police as well and managed to escape the police trap despite his convoy being intercepted in Punjab’s Jalandhar district.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all security agencies to be on ‘high alert’ in the Nepal-India border area. The ‘My Republica’ newspaper, quoting ministry sources, has said that this instruction has been given at the request of Indian security officials and the Nepal-India border area has been put on ‘high alert’ for two days. Quoting sources, the report said police in plain clothes have increased vigil in the border area as Singh may enter the country from Kapilvastu in western Nepal.
