The CM also announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each to the dependents of those who lost their lives due to the disaster. CM instructed the DM that all possible cooperation and assistance should be given to the victims of heavy rains as well as the travelers who came to Uttarakhand. During this, Disaster Management Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat also accompanied him.

Dr. Rawat said that in view of the sensitivity of the disaster, instructions have been given to the District Administration, Police Administration, District Disaster Management, SDRF and all the departments related to the disaster to be on alert. Along with the permissible financial help to the disaster victims, pilgrims and tourists Instructions were also given to the officers to take care of the facilities. Said that in this hour of crisis, the government stands with the families of the victims with full readiness.

Disaster Management Secretary SA Murugeshan said that the situation arising out of excessive rainfall is being dealt with expeditiously. He said that people should still refrain from going on unnecessary travel for the time being. Especially in Kumaon division, extra precaution should be taken due to excess rainfall. Plan your journey only after getting information that the roads are open.

Rudrapur. The administration has set up relief centers at many places in Rudrapur due to the torrential rains that occurred last day. Waterlogged areas have been kept at these centres. About 20 teams have been constituted by the administration to distribute relief material at these centres. These teams distributed about 4500 packets of lunch and dinner to the people living in the centres. Apart from this, arrangements were made for 200 liters of water and petrol along with diesel.

District Supply Officer Tej Bal Singh said that due to incessant rains for the last two days, several houses in Rampura, Jagatpura, Bhootbangla, Shaktivihar, Shivnagar, Kheda, Transit Camp and Mukherjee Nagar were flooded with water. For this, the administration has set up relief centers to stay at these places. People have been kept at these centers only. All the teams started delivering relief material to these places from morning itself. He said that relief material would be sent to these centers in future also.

District Magistrate Ranjana Rajguru inspected various damaged roads and waterlogged sites due to heavy rains. During this, he gave necessary directions to the concerned officers. He also said that immediate alternative arrangements should be made to prevent loss of lives from the damaged roads. Also, arrangements should be made for early drainage from waterlogged areas. During this, the District Magistrate inspected the roads like Indira Chowk, DD Chowk, Kalinagar, Pantnagar, Nagla, Masjid Colony etc. Chief Development Officer Ashish Bhatgai was also present on this occasion.
