New Delhi. Monsoon is at its peak in India. People living in the plains of the country are facing the problem of water logging and floods. At the same time, due to heavy rains in the mountains, heavy devastation is being seen due to the incidents of landslides. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope of much relief in the days to come. From July 14, once again an alert of heavy rain has been issued in Himachal. Due to this, there can be a huge increase in the water level of Yamuna river. This is the reason why the problems of the people of Delhi ( Delhi) are bound to increase.
Chief of Shimla’s Meteorological Department Surender Pal said, ‘Today and tomorrow the intensity of rain will be less. During this, the monsoon will be somewhat weak and there will be light rain. However, after July 14, once again it will gain momentum. It will rain heavily for the next four-five days.
Yamuna’s water level is above the danger mark
The water level of Yamuna river in Delhi is already above the danger mark. Water is continuously being released into the Yamuna from Hathini Kund barrage in Haryana. The effect of continuous rains in the mountains is that more water is not being stopped on the barrage, due to which the floodplain of Yamuna is full of water. If water continues to be released like this in future, then the people of Delhi may have to face floods.
The difficulties of the people of Delhi are going to increase
This latest update regarding rain must have increased the concerns of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Due to continuous release of water in Yamuna, the Chief Minister had written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah demanding that water be released gradually from Hathini Kund Barrage. After this, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had called the CM of Delhi and said that there is no option to store water. However, he had also told that Himachal has now released less water to Haryana in Yamuna river. Therefore, there is bound to be a gradual decrease in the water level. Now after the latest update of the Meteorological Department, the danger of flood has started looming again in Delhi.
