Fear among people once again in Joshimath(Joshimath)

Dehradun. Once again big news has come to the fore regarding cracks in Joshimath. (Joshimath) According to an eyewitness in Joshimath in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, he saw a crack of 6 feet in one of his fields. In fact, due to heavy rains, geological instability has once again arisen at the entrance of the pilgrims of Badrinath. From where hundreds of families had to be evacuated in the month of January due to dangerous cracks in many houses. Vinod Saklani, a resident of Sunil ward of Joshimath town, said, “I found a crack of at least 6 feet in a small field near my house. It appears as if it has happened due to monsoon rains,” “We anticipate more damage to structures in our city due to the rains. I have filled the crack with stone and soil. Even the cracks in the damaged houses are slowly but surely increasing.” The Saklani family was the first family in the city to notice cracks in their house two years ago. The situation worsened in early January this year. Saklani said, “I am staying in a hotel (at a safe place) since January 6 and go to my house every day to take care of the cattle tied up in the field near the house.”

Local officials visited the spot on Sunday. Saklani said, “They have said that a technical team will come on Monday to do a thorough inspection of the crater.” In Joshimath, the gateway town to Badrinath, at least 868 structures have developed cracks and 181 have been declared unsafe so far. Several hundreds of people were evacuated from the area earlier this year and most of them are still living in relief camps.
