Dehradun. Hon’ble Chief Minister has directed all the District Magistrates for immediate response to disaster incidents. District Magistrate Savin BaNSal reached Batoli village of Misral Patti of the district, which was cut off from communication, and the administration assured the villagers of all possible help on the spot. The demands and proposals of the villagers were approved on the spot.
While measuring the difficult trail, the District Magistrate came face to face with the problems of the local women, elderly children of Batoli and resolved them. The District Administration built the road overnight to reach the villagers on the Sheru Khala road which had turned into a ditch-filled mound due to heavy rains and it would have taken months to build the road. The District Magistrate said that it is the responsibility of the administration to minimize disaster, trouble and any untoward incident and the administration is committed to it. The District Magistrate handed over the advance cheque of Rs. 3.84 lakh for the rent of all the families on the spot, in which Rs. 4,000 per family per month has been given to all the families to live in a safe place.
The district magistrate directed to keep manpower machinery deployed in the area 24×7 for road repair for the entire 3 months of the rainy season. He also directed the tehsildar Vikasnagar to set up a camp in the area to resolve problems of the locals. The district magistrate directed the officers to identify a place for a temporary helipad with the help of villagers so that a temporary helipad can be built in the village within 15 days. He also directed the SDM Vikasnagar that ANMs will visit regularly for health check-up of pregnant mothers and infants.
The District Magistrate has requested the residents of the area not to send their children to school from home, to rent a house near the school for their studies, and has handed over the cheque for 3 months’ money on the spot. On the demand of the villagers, along with the process of handing over the Koti-Batoli road to PWD, instructions were also given to PWD to survey the Batoli to Than village road option. The District Magistrate has sent a letter to the Secretary PWD for hanging bridge and permanent arrangements. At the same time, Rs. 3.98 lakh has been given to PWD on the spot for immediate improvement. The District Magistrate has given instructions to make immediate temporary arrangements in view of medical emergency. Along with this, on the demand of the villagers, 20 solar lights were approved on the spot by the DM and instructions were given to get the work done immediately.
