Delhi:Arvind Kejriwal, chief of the Aam Aadmi Party, has informed the Delhi High Court that he will not appear in the excise policy case either in person or through a lawyer.
In a letter addressed to Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma, Kejriwal stated that his decision is guided by the “voice of his conscience.” The development comes amid ongoing legal proceedings related to the excise policy matter.
According to party sources, the former Delhi Chief Minister has taken a firm stand on the issue, choosing not to participate in the court proceedings before the concerned bench. The move is likely to have legal implications as the case continues in the high court.
The excise policy case has been a major political and legal issue, drawing attention across the country. Kejriwal’s latest decision adds a new dimension to the matter, raising questions about the next course of action in court.
Legal experts believe that the court may respond by issuing further directions regarding his appearance or representation. However, an official response from the court is still awaited.
