New Delhi: Panic spread across South Delhi’s Govindpuri area(Delhi Crime News) after a woman and her teenage son were found murdered inside their home late Wednesday night. Police suspect the killings may be linked to a robbery attempt, as cash and jewellery were reportedly missing from the house.
According to officials, the victims have been identified as 38-year-old Sharda Sahu and her 13-year-old son, a Class 7 student. Police received information about the incident around 1:00 AM and immediately rushed to the spot to begin the investigation.
Police said the woman’s husband, Vishnu Sahu, who works as a fruit and vegetable vendor, returned home late at night and found the main door locked from outside. After entering the house, he discovered his wife and son lying in a pool of blood.
Investigators revealed that both victims had multiple stab wounds caused by a sharp weapon. During the initial search, police found that cash and some jewellery were missing from the house, strengthening suspicions that the crime may have been committed during a robbery.
Teams from the crime branch and forensic science laboratory were called to collect evidence from the scene. Police are also scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning local residents to trace the accused.
A case of murder and theft has been registered, and multiple police teams have been formed to investigate the matter. Officials stated that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspects at the earliest.
The shocking double murder has created fear and tension in the Govindpuri locality, while residents have demanded stronger security measures in the area.
