Science:India has officially withdrawn its offer to host(climate summit 2028) the 33rd Conference of the Parties (COP33), scheduled for 2028.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of External Affairs during a press briefing on Friday.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that the decision was taken after considering several factors. However, specific reasons were not disclosed.
He emphasized that India remains fully committed to tackling climate change.

Officials stated that India is among the G20 nations that have fulfilled their commitments under the Paris Agreement.
India also plans to strengthen its green initiatives in the coming years.
