New Delhi. There is good news for Sikh devotees on the occasion of 552nd birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The central government is seriously considering to reopen the Kartarpur corridor. High sources said that the Kartarpur corridor can be opened for devotees on the occasion of Guruparb.

Remind you that this corridor was closed in March last year due to Corona. The Kartarpur Corridor was opened on 9 November 2019 to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The announcement of the opening of the corridor can be made very soon.

The Center is showing a positive attitude regarding the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor. On Sunday itself, a delegation of Punjab BJP met Prime Minister Modi and demanded the opening of the corridor. After the meeting, Punjab BJP President Ashwini Sharma had said that he hoped that the Kartarpur corridor would be opened soon.

The Kartarpur corridor was closed in March 2020 due to the Corona crisis and very limited land movement between the two countries is taking place from the Wagah-Attari border checkpoint.

From November 17 to 26, a batch of Sikh pilgrims will go to PAK from the Wagah-Attari border.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that the batch of Sikh pilgrims going to Pakistan between November 17 and 26 would enter Pakistan from the Wagah-Attari border checkpoint. The Ministry of External Affairs had said that this group would visit Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Dera Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib and Gurdwara Sri Sacha Sauda.
However, the Ministry of External Affairs had formally made it clear that this batch would go to Pakistan from the Wagah Attari border and not through the Kartarpur Corridor. A batch of pilgrims going to Pakistan will go on a tour of Pakistan through the prescribed route.

Let us tell you that on November 9, 2019, this corridor was opened for devotees and within 129 days, about 63 thousand devotees had visited Kartarpur Gurdwara through the corridor.
