BSP accused of aligning with BJP

Lucknow, Social organisation Bahujan Bharat has accused the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of aligning with the BJP in this Lok Sabha elections. Organisation’s president and former IAS officer Fateh Bahadur claimed that the BSP is indirectly supporting the BJP. He mentioned the recent changes in BSP candidates across various Lok Sabha seats to buttress his claim.
“Just two days ago, the BSP changed its candidates in Jaunpur and Basti, signalling that their priority is not just winning elections but aligning with the forces who are hell-bent on working against the tenets of Indian Constitution,” he said.

The president of the organisation stated that it is unfortunate that the Indian Constitution is under threat in the country, and instead of supporting the INDI Alliance, which is fighting to protect the Constitution in Uttar Pradesh, the BSP is openly siding with anti-constitutional forces.
He emphasised that the fight in this election is to protect the rights of Dalits, backward classes, and minority communities, which are secured by the Constitution itself.
“The BSP was formed by Kanshi Ram to ensure rights for these communities are secured. However, the current BSP leadership is supporting anti-constitutional forces by selecting candidates in elections who can damage the opposition alliance,” he said.
Organisation’s secretary-general and vice-president, both of whom were former coordinators of several districts in BSP, said that Dalits are suffering due to Mayawati’s policies.
