Bold claim by the ‘Republic of Balochistan'( Balochistan’ )

Balochistan: A statement issued in the name of the ‘Republic of Balochistan’  ( Balochistan’ )   claims that it has established control over 85 percent of Balochistan’s territory. Several significant steps have been taken towards becoming an independent nation. According to the statement, while declaring its independence, Balochistan claims to have adopted a national anthem (‘Ma Chukain Balochani’), a national flag, and a currency named ‘Balochi Falus’.

Control over gold, copper, and coal mines
Mir Yaar Baloch, a Baloch social and political activist, journalist, and human rights advocate, shared a letter on the social media platform X. The letter claims that Baloch security and defense forces are now managing the administration of the region. It further asserts that they have control over gold and copper mines, more than 150 gas fields, and over 1,200 coal mines.

Military and administrative structure also prepared
According to the claim, a force comprising 500,000 personnel—spanning the Balochistan Army, Navy, Air Force, and civil administration—is ready to oust Pakistan’s occupying forces by the end of 2026. However, the statement acknowledges that they do not possess fighter jets, tanks, missiles, or heavy weaponry.

Baloch personnel resigning from the Pakistan Army
The statement also claims that a large number of Baloch individuals, as well as some from the Pashtun community, are resigning from the Pakistan Army, Police, Frontier Corps, and Levies. This sends a clear message to the world. Won’t allow use of our land by Pakistan
A letter shared by Mir Yar Baloch stated, “Balochistan is your neighbor. We assure our close neighbors that we will not allow the Pakistan Army, Navy, or Air Force to use our land, airspace, or coastline to create instability in the region.”

Time to begin a new chapter of regional stability
It further claimed, “The time has come for the free world to recognize the independence of the Republic of Balochistan and help usher in a new chapter of regional stability, thereby putting an end to Pakistan’s decades-long hostility, nuclear blackmail, and extremism directed against our neighboring countries.”

Claims could not be independently verified
However, these claims have not been independently verified. Consequently, the assertions made in the letter shared by Mir Yar Baloch—purportedly on behalf of the ‘Republic of Balochistan’—have not been confirmed by any independent or official source.
