Will Zelensky’s words come true?

Kyiv. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky says that someone close to Russian President Vladimir Putin may one day kill him. According to several media reports, Zelensky made this claim in the Ukrainian documentary Year. Zelensky said, “There will definitely come a time when the weakness of Putin’s regime will be felt inside Russia.” Zelensky said, “And then the hunter will eat the hunter. They will find a reason to kill a murderer. They will remember Komarov’s words to Zelensky…they will remember. They will find a reason to kill the killer. would it be? Yes. When? I don’t know.”

Such comments of the Ukrainian President have come just a few days after the completion of one year of the Ukraine war. Meanwhile, there have also been reports of a rift between top Russian military officials and the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin. There are also reports that people close to Putin are getting disappointed with him. Let us see whether the Russian President is in danger from the person known as ‘Putin’s chef’.

Who is Prigozhin?
Prigozhin, who made money through food services and contracts for the Kremlin’s catering, claimed he set up Wagner to support the 2014 mission in Donbass. Prigozhin, 61, who served nine years in prison for theft and street robbery in the 1980s, has emerged as a high-profile figure since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

His fighters, whom he describes as among the best in the world, are leading an offensive in eastern Ukraine.

Can prigozin be a problem?
There is talk that Prigozin could possibly replace Putin. Russian President Putin has increasingly relied on Yevgeny Prigozhin’s Wagner Group. The war continues in Ukraine and their forces are beginning to feel their loss. Prigozin is currently embroiled in a feud with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

A close friend of Prigozhin said that Putin is beginning to doubt the victory because he feels that the army generals cannot be trusted. So he is looking for other options. If Shoigu goes, we will win. Shoigu is our biggest enemy, not Ukrainians.

Prigozhin on Friday criticized a regional governor who told him to stick to his food business, citing the actions of Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin during World War II.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov was quoted as saying that authorities in Kiev could target Prigozhin, and that Zelensky and CIA director William Burns had discussed such a possibility.
