United Nations. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Thursday that the world sees Pakistan as the ‘center’ of terrorism. He stressed that despite the two-year period of the Kovid-19 pandemic, the global community has not forgotten where the root of this evil of terrorism lies. After presiding over the ‘UNSC Briefing: Global Counter Terrorism Approach: Challenge and Way Forward’, Jaishankar made the above remarks during a conversation with reporters at the United Nations Security Council.
The External Affairs Minister said, “Whatever they may be saying, the fact is that everyone, the whole world today sees them as the epicenter of terrorism.”Jaishankar said, “I know that we have been fighting Covid for two and a half years. Struggling with and because of this the memories have become a bit hazy. But I assure you that the world has not forgotten from where terrorism starts and whose imprint is seen on all activities in the region and outside the region.
He said, “Therefore, I would say that before living in any kind of fantasy, they should remind themselves.” Jaishankar was responding to a question on Pakistan’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar. Khar had alleged that ‘no other country has used terrorism better than India.’ Let us tell you that earlier on Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar strongly criticized Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto for raising the issue of Kashmir in the UNSC. Feedback was given.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar had said that how to trust the country which gave shelter to Osama bin Laden. Apart from this, giving a sharp response, he said that the same applies to the country sponsoring cross-border terrorism from Russia. Neither hosting Osama bin Laden nor attacking the parliament of a neighboring country can serve as evidence to preach before this Council.
