New Delhi. A cyclone is likely to emerge in the South Andaman Sea on 4 December. Under its influence, a low pressure area (LPA) is likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea by December 5. The Meteorological Department said that it is likely to move towards west-northwest. By the morning of December 7, it may concentrate over the southeast of the Bay of Bengal. Thereafter, it is very likely to move west-northwestwards and reach southwest Bay of Bengal near north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by morning of 8 December.

The India Meteorological Department said that due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with heavy rains over Nicobar Islands on 4th and Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 5th December. Whereas on December 8, rain is likely at most places with heavy to very heavy falls over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and adjoining South Andhra Pradesh. Squally weather (wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph) very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea on 4th and 5th December.

Whereas on 5 and 6 December, strong winds (speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph) are likely to prevail over Southeast Bay of Bengal. On December 6 and 7, the impact of the storm can be seen over the southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Andaman Sea on 4 and 5 December.

Fog increased in Himachal-Punjab
On December 4, there is a possibility of dense fog in different areas of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab of North India. While there is no possibility of any significant change in the minimum temperature over the eastern parts of the country during the next 24 hours. After that there will be a drop of 2-3 degree Celsius.
