Fake bomb was reported on the plane going to Dubai

Chennai. An intoxicated man called on Saturday to prevent his family members from going abroad and gave fake information about a bomb in the Dubai-bound plane of private airline IndiGo. Airport officials gave this information. According to airport and police officials, the Chennai resident wanted to prevent two members of his family from traveling to Dubai, due to which he made a phone call at the police control room threatening the plane with bombs.

According to officials, after receiving the phone call, the security agencies conducted a thorough probe to find out if any explosives were placed on the 6E 65 of IndiGo. However, no such object was found in the plane, due to which the officers and others heaved a sigh of relief, he said. According to officials, the plane, which was supposed to leave at 7.20 am due to the bomb threat phone, took off for its destination later in the day after investigation. Indigo airline reacting to the incident said that the investigation process was initiated after receiving the bomb threat and the plane took off from Chennai after a delay of about six hours.

The airline said, “Due to the bomb threat, IndiGo flight 6E 65 from Chennai to Dubai was delayed. As per the rules, the aircraft was moved to a remote bay and a thorough investigation was done.
