New Delhi. Days after the arrest of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) alleged terrorist Mohammad Nadeem from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested his associate Habibul Islam Saifullah. Nadeem was arrested on August 12, just before the 75th Independence Day. . He was in contact with Pakistani terrorists. It was only after interrogating him that the police got clues about Habibul.
Habibul was a resident of Motihari in Bihar. Sources said that he wanted to form a cadre of suicide bombers. He came in contact with Nadeem through online media. Sources said that Habibul was part of the ongoing terror conspiracies and prepared for the terror attack on the instructions of his Pak-based masters.
Sources said Habibul was highly radicalized and was involved in circulating jihadi videos. He used to work in a madrasa in Bharuch earlier, but was sent back. Recently, he sent a video to convince 10 people to become suicide bombers. Sources said that his main target was to recruit boys under the age of 20 for his mission as well as people who used to visit Gujarat regularly because of their Bharuch connections.
He was in touch with JeM leaders on social media. Sources said he wanted to do something “big” like a suicide attack and train the youth to carry it out. His role model was Jaish terrorist Saifullah. Habibul had created several Telegram IDs for his handlers using virtual numbers. Nadeem had introduced him to the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Habibul had also planned to go to Afghanistan for weapons training.
How Saifullah, who claimed to be the commander of Pak Taliban, also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, asked Nadeem to arrange arms and guns in India. Sources said that Nadeem was told to arrange the funds himself and later the money would be sent to him.
