New Delhi: Assembly elections can be held in five states in February and March of 2022. The five states where assembly elections are likely are Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa. Of these, except Punjab, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is already in power in four other states. However, the BJP has started churning for the upcoming assembly elections. A meeting was held in the BJP War Room in Delhi on Wednesday under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In this meeting, discussions were held on making a concrete strategy for the assembly elections to be held in five states
The BJP is already hoping for a comfortable return in at least three states barring Punjab. The only potential challenge it expects is in the politically important state of Uttar Pradesh. So first let’s talk about Uttar Pradesh itself.
Some time ago in UP, there was a flurry of discontent in the party against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. However, the party soon came out of this crisis as well. It is said that it was only due to the efforts of the party leadership and Home Minister Amit Shah that Apna Dal and the opposition faction within the party came on the line. Everything was going well for the party in UP, but the Lakhimpur Kheri incident that took place a few months before the assembly elections is likely to damage the party’s image.

But the incident of farmers being crushed to death during the peasant movement has once again troubled the leadership.
Talking about Goa, Home Minister Amit Shah will soon review the BJP’s preparations for the next year’s Goa Assembly elections. The party’s Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis gave this information on Wednesday. He will be visiting the state on Thursday. During this, some will also participate in government programs and party programs. He will also meet party workers and MLAs.
Talking about Uttarakhand, BJP has changed the face of the Chief Minister here some time back. But the BJP has had to deal with cases of indiscipline within the party in recent times. Here there is a competition between Congress and BJP. The Congress is troubled by the breakdown and internal factionalism here. The BJP, which came to power in 2017 with a thumping majority, faces a challenge to repeat the same performance in the next year’s elections. In view of the elections, the BJP has activated the organization up to the booth level along with organizing Jan Ashirwad rallies.
Talking about Punjab, after breaking the alliance with Akali Dal, it will be a big challenge for BJP in Punjab to maintain its existence and reach the seat of power. It will have to compete with the three big political parties that have been established in the state and it will be very challenging to bring our eight percent vote share to 30 percent. Here, Captain Amarinder Singh may have left the Congress, but the Congress has not kept the road easy for the BJP by making a Dalit face in the form of Charanjit Singh Channi the CM.
In Manipur, the BJP hopes that the people here will vote because of their four years of work. Party President JP Nadda had visited Manipur some time back and attacked the Congress saying that before the formation of our government, Manipur was dominated by corruption, commissions and criminalization. Kidnapping cases were resolved outside police stations. This was the ground reality of the state. There was no development here. Nadda himself held discussions with the party’s core group leaders, besides party MPs and MLAs here.
