Ayodhya Deepotsav 2026: 30 Lakh Diyas and Drone Show

The Ayodhya Deepotsav 2026 celebrations will bring a spectacular festive atmosphere to the holy city. Organisers plan to light more than 30 lakh earthen lamps across 56 ghats along the Saryu riverfront on November 7. A special show featuring 2,100 drones will also present scenes from the Ramayana.

The five-day celebrations began on November 5. The programme will feature religious ceremonies, cultural performances and modern light displays. Officials and volunteers are preparing Ram Ki Paidi and several other locations across Ayodhya.

30 Lakh Diyas to Light Up 56 Ghats

The lighting of more than 30 lakh diyas will remain the main attraction. Around 35,000 students from Ayodhya colleges will help organisers arrange the lamps.

The event will cover 56 ghats at Ram Ki Paidi. Organisers will also host a grand Maha Aarti along the Saryu riverfront.

Around 2,147 participants will join the ceremony. Vedic chanting and traditional rituals will create a spiritual atmosphere.

The festival has grown significantly since its first edition in 2017. Organisers lit approximately 1.71 lakh diyas that year. The 2025 edition recorded 26.17 lakh diyas.

2,100 Drones to Present the Ramayana

A technology-based drone presentation will offer another major attraction. Around 2,100 indigenous drones will create formations depicting important scenes from the Ramayana.

The programme will also feature a floating stage. Artists will use dance and music to portray Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya.

Organisers have also planned an eight-minute laser show. A 20-minute projection mapping presentation will add to the spectacle. Musical fireworks will complete the evening celebrations.

Cultural Programmes From Different States

The five-day event will showcase India’s cultural diversity. Artists from five countries are expected to join the celebrations.

Performers will present traditional dance forms from several Indian states. These include Karnataka’s Dollu Kunitha, Rajasthan’s Ghoomar and Bihar’s Jhijhiya.

Around 1,000 artist groups are also expected to perform at different venues. A procession will feature 22 tableaux based on the Ramayana.

Vice-President to Attend Deepotsav

Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan will visit Ayodhya on November 7. The official announcement says he will offer prayers at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

He will also join the symbolic coronation ceremony of Lord Ram. During the event, he will felicitate revered saints.

Diwali Celebrations Continue on November 8
