Reduced size of road projects Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Banitin Gadkari said that the possibility of purchase of road properties by foreign pension and insurance funds in the country is being reduced. For this, the Modi government has reduced the size of road projects under the monetization plan. He said that foreign funds have a large amount of capital, which gives very low returns in other markets. In such a situation, they invest money in India. We don’t want foreigners to own our property.
Union Minister Gadkari said that our assets should not be owned by foreigners, so we have reduced the size of projects from Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 500 crore. With this, domestic investors will be able to participate in these projects. Gadkari, who recently returned after inspecting the progress of work on the Zojila tunnel connecting the Kashmir Valley with Ladakh, said the contractor has been asked to complete the tunnel work by 2023 instead of 2026. This has been done keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 only and only. During this, he also asked the cooperative sector to pay more attention to efficiency and profits. He also discussed the need for changes in the laws related to this.

At the same time, during a program today, Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar praised the work of Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. Speaking at a function in Ahmednagar, he said when it comes to Gadkari’s projects, work starts within a few days of the ceremony. Gadkari is a great example of a public representative working for the development of the country. The NCP chief said around 5,000 km of work had been done when Gadkari took over as the road transport and highways ministry. After taking over, this figure has crossed 12,000 km.
