Manglu Ram, a farmer from a small village like Bhandarvandi in Keshkal region, thought of doing organic farming in the era of fertilizer-manure. 15 years ago he had bought two earthworms from Hyderabad for ten rupees. Now doing organic farming is earning good money.
Mangallu Ram told that earlier he used to do simple farming. Then his educated unemployed brother thought of organic farming after not getting a job and bought two earthworms from Hyderabad for ten rupees. Mangaluram worked hard after buying earthworms for ten rupees. The officials of the Agriculture Department gave color to his hard work. Mangaluram said that with the help of the officials of the Agriculture Department, I am selling earthworms to other farmers and groups for five hundred rupees per kg and am doing organic farming continuously.
Mangaluram has also increased the yield of his farm by doing organic farming. Agriculture Officer Ugres Devangan said that Mangallu Ram is continuously increasing the yield of his farm through organic farming. Along with this, whenever we need earthworms for organic manure, we take it from Mangaluru only. Magallu Ram is trying to save the environment through organic farming. Mangallu Ram said that by eating the crop grown from chemical fertilizers, there is a loss to both the land and the human being. If we do not do organic farming, then along with humans, our earth will also become ill. While praising this thinking of Mangallu Ram, the officials also say that Mangallu Ram is a role model for other farmers.
