Heat will increase: It has been more than a week since the month of March started. Snowfall is happening in the hilly states. The mountains of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir are covered with snow. At the same time, severe heat (Temperature) has already started in many states. In view of the heat, the government has to issue an alert.
Temperature will increase further
The Odisha government on Sunday issued an advisory to all the district collectors in view of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast of increase in day temperature. In the weather bulletin, the IMD said that the day temperature in the state will increase by three to five degrees Celsius during the next 4 to 5 days. There will be severe heat due to increasing temperature during the day.
These places in Odisha will experience intense heat
The Meteorological Department has forecast that the maximum temperature is likely to rise to 40 degrees Celsius and above at isolated places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonpur, Boudh and Bolangir districts during the next five days.
Children, elderly, sick people may face problems
In view of this forecast, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) office of Odisha advised the district collectors to disseminate hot weather warning messages among the public. Although the heat is tolerable for the general public, it can cause health concerns for children, elderly, sick and weak people.
Take precautions while going out
The district collectors have been asked to advise people to take appropriate precautionary measures while going out of their homes between 11 am and 3.30 pm. According to the IMD, the highest temperature in the state on Sunday was recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius in Boudh, while it was 38 degrees Celsius in Titlagarh. Other places where day temperatures exceeded 37 degrees Celsius included Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna, Bolangir and Sonpur.
