Delhi: The country’s capital Delhi has become a gas chamber. The AQI level has crossed 400. In such a situation, the sub-committee on GRAP has decided to implement Phase-III of the revised GRAP in the entire NCR. It will be effective from 08:00 am on November 15, 2024 (Friday). With the implementation of the third phase of GRAP, many new restrictions will be imposed, so that the level of pollution in the city can be controlled. Along with this, classes up to fifth will be online. At the same time, Delhi Metro will make 60 additional trips daily on working days (Monday to Friday). This decision (Know ) has been taken so that people do not face problems in commuting due to various restrictions on vehicles. Pollution and smog have increased in the national capital Delhi and its surrounding areas. The AQI in the capital is 432, i.e. the air has been recorded in the ‘severe’ category. AQI in Noida adjoining Delhi was also 372, i.e. the air here has been recorded in the ‘very bad’ category.
Ban on these works in Grape 3
Construction and demolition will be banned. All non-essential mining activities will be suspended. Non-electric, non-CNG and non-BS-VI diesel interstate buses will be banned. Advice for online classes for primary schools up to class 5. State governments can take a decision regarding online classes for primary class children. There will be a ban on goods vehicles of BS-3 or below registered in Delhi. However, vehicles related to essential services will be exempted from this. There will be a ban on painting, policing, brick kiln, stone crusher work in Delhi NCR. Water sprinkling will also continue.
Restrictions increase with each stage
Different stages of GRAP are implemented based on the condition of air pollution in Delhi. The first stage of GRAP is implemented when the AQI level crosses 200. The second stage is implemented when it crosses 300 and the third stage is implemented when it crosses 400. The fourth stage of GRAP is implemented when the AQI crosses 450. Restrictions increase with each stage of GRAP. The Delhi government implemented GRAP-3 last year. During this time, all types of construction work was banned except essential government work. Along with this, BS III petrol and BS IV diesel vehicles were banned.
