Pak becomes India’s obstacle in saving Afghan from starvation?

India is ready to help the Afghans facing crisis in view of the changed situation since the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, but Pakistan is still sitting on the road. Imran Khan’s government is still not allowing Indian wheat to pass through Pakistan. However, now Pakistan has shown signs of softening. Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said he would consider Afghanistan’s request to allow the transit of Indian wheat through Pakistan.

Pakistani PM Imran Khan further said that urged the international community to fulfill their collective responsibility to prevent the humanitarian crisis being faced by the people of the war-torn country. His remarks came as Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaki arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday on his maiden foreign visit and is leading a 20-member high-level delegation.

Imran Khan said, ‘We will also consider the request of our Afghan brothers to allow Indian wheat to pass through Pakistan.’ Pak Prime Minister’s Office tweeted, “Prime Minister informed that in the present context, Pakistan will consider the request of the Afghan brothers to allow wheat supplied by India to pass through Pakistan on extraordinary grounds for humanitarian purposes.”

Let us tell you that India has contributed in providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people. This includes giving more than one million metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan since the last decade.
