The series of record-breaking heat and heat wave continues in entire UP. Even today there is a heat wave alert in many cities. According to the Meteorological Department, dry weather is expected in western UP on May 22 and heat waves will also be felt due to strong winds.
Talking about the weather system across the country, a circulation is spread over the interior of Tamil Nadu up to 5.8 above the average sea level. At the same time, a cyclonic wind area remains over western Uttar Pradesh. A trough line extends from this cyclonic circulation to Gangetic West Bengal through eastern Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar and Jharkhand. At the same time, a trough line is extending from Madhya Maharashtra to the Karnataka coast.
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Sikkim, Lakshadweep and Andaman, Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam, with heavy rain at some places. Light rain is possible in Western Himalayas, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and southern Madhya Pradesh. Heat wave may occur in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
