Many newborn babies were named ‘Ram’ and ‘Sita’. More than 50 pregnant women had made a special request to the JSS Super Specialty Hospital, run by ‘Shri Siddeshwar Lok Kalyan Charitable Trust’ in Vijayapura, Karnataka, that they wanted to deliver their child on January 22. The hospital conducted more than 20 deliveries on Monday.
Head HR (Head of Human Resources) Lilavati C.A. Said, “We had a special request from more than 50 women that they want to deliver on January 22 as it is the day of Lord Ram.”
“Since there were so many requests, after examining the medical condition of the pregnant women and several tests, we scheduled the delivery of more than 20 pregnant women on January 22,” the official said.
He said, “Today, we have delivered more than 20 women so far and there are still pregnant women in the operation room and investigation is going on so that the next delivery can be done.
Ashwani Bagli (21) is one of the women who had planned to give birth to the child on Monday. Her husband is a bank employee.
Ashwani said, “It is an auspicious day and our family wants the child to be born on this historic day because Lord Ram has returned to Ayodhya. I gave birth to a daughter on this auspicious day and we are thinking of naming our daughter Sita.
The hospital had announced free delivery
The hospital administration said that it had announced free deliveries between January 18-22 and it conducted more than 100 deliveries during this period. It also organized a “Palna Ceremony” on January 22 where three newborn babies – two boys and a girl – were displayed as ‘Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman’.
