Islamabad: A shocking news has come amidst increasing crimes against women in Imran Khan’s ‘Naya Pakistan’. Several hidden cameras have been detected in the washroom of a private school in Karachi. There has been a ruckus after the matter came to light. Sindh Education Department has suspended the registration of the accused school. The Education Department had sought clarification on the cameras, but suspension action was taken after no satisfactory reply was received from the school management.
Cameras were installed in washrooms used by female teachers and students as well as in men’s washrooms. Education department officials have confirmed that female teachers and students were being recorded through hidden cameras. At the same time, the school administration says that the cameras were installed for surveillance purposes.
On November 3, a teacher at The Harrocks School, located in Scheme-33 of Safoora Goth, complained to the provincial education department that she had seen hidden cameras in the washroom of the school. After this, when the administration investigated, the allegations were found to be true. The department had asked the school to respond by sending a show cause notice. On which it was told by the school management that the cameras in the washroom were installed for surveillance purposes. Expressing unhappiness over this reply of the school, the department has suspended its registration.
According to the report, according to the notification of the Education Department, the registration of the school will be suspended till the completion of the investigation. Regarding the matter, Imran Riaz, head of the Sindh Cyber Crime Zone of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), said that no complaint has been received regarding the recorded video so far. Riyaz further said that the Director General of Cyber Crime Circle is in touch with the school regarding this matter, a team will be sent to the school for investigation. He said the team would investigate whether the videos were filmed for child pornography or there was some other motive behind it.
