New Delhi. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) on Thursday advised all TV news channels (TV channels) to avoid providing platforms to people associated with banned organizations or facing terrorism and serious criminal cases.
-In an advisory issued to all private TV channels, the ministry said it has come to its notice that ‘a person’ in foreign country is facing serious criminal cases including terrorism, inviting him for discussion on a television channel. Was.
The ministry said that during the discussion, the person made several comments which are detrimental to India’s sovereignty and integrity, its security and friendly relations with foreign nations. However, the ministry has not disclosed the name of that person or channel.
The ministry said that there was a possibility of disruption of public order in the country due to that person’s comment. The ministry said that the government supports the freedom of the media and respects its rights under the Constitution, but TV channels will have to follow the provisions of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 and broadcast content only under that.
