India-Middle East-Europe(Europe)

New Delhi. The G-20 summit held on Sunday under the chairmanship of India has been very special in many ways. On the sidelines of this conference, a very ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor was announced, which is being described as a game changer in terms of global business. Underlining the importance of this corridor, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnan said that with this, the distance between India and Europe (Europe) will be reduced by thousands of kilometers.

Railway Minister Vaishnav said, ‘…India-Middle East-Europe, there is a very good alignment in these areas. They have a similar thinking and shared values… Now, the distance between India and Europe will be reduced by thousands of kilometers. With this, trade, transportation, facilities and opportunities will increase between India, Europe and the Middle East…’

Let us tell you that the leaders of America, India, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy and European Union announced this new corridor on the sidelines of the G-20 summit on Saturday, which is called China’s ‘Belt and Road Initiative’. Is being seen as an alternative. This initiative will include two different corridors, first, the Eastern Corridor which will connect India to West Asia and second, the Northern Corridor which will connect West Asia to Europe.
This will include a rail line which, when completed, will provide a reliable and affordable cross-border transport route to complement the existing multi-modal transport route facilitating the movement of goods and services from Southeast Asia to West Asia via India. Will provide ship-to-rail transit network.

Along this rail line, the member countries intend to lay cables for electricity and digital connectivity as well as lay pipes for clean hydrogen export. The corridor will strengthen regional supply chains, increase trade access, improve trade facilities and promote greater emphasis on environmental, social and governance impacts.

This initiative was described as ‘historic’ by leaders of various countries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden. Apart from Modi and Biden, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in the program.
