Islamabad. In the wake of the violence on May 9 following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, many big leaders are seen leaving the party. On the other hand, local sources said that prominent leaders of the party like Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhary are also missing from the political arena and have not been seen anywhere for the last 8 days.
Former federal minister and senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari is a big name among the leaders who broke ties ( ties) with PTI in recent times. Mazari, 72, has been arrested four times since May 12. This announcement of leaving PTI after being released from jail for the fourth time. On May 12, the police caught him from his residence and sent him to jail. She was the Human Rights Minister from 2018 to 2022 in Khan’s regime.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has alleged that the Pakistan government is trying to crush his party so that it cannot contest the elections.

Pakistan Rangers arrested Imran Khan from the premises of the Islamabad High Court on May 9 in a corruption case, triggering violent protests in different parts of the country. His party workers vandalized more than a dozen military installations, including Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commander’s House), Mianwali Airbase and the ISI building in Faisalabad. At the same time, the mob also attacked the Army Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif has said that those involved in the May 9 violence and attacks on military establishments and government institutions will not be spared. Addressing a meeting in Islamabad on the law and order situation in the country, Shahbaz said that ‘rioters’ will not escape the law. He said, “It has been decided that those involved in the May 9 violence and those who instigated it will be punished as per the law and the Constitution.”
