3 deaths in wake of cyclone(cyclone )

Rajkot / Saurashtra. With the cyclonic (cyclone ) storm ‘Biparjoy’ moving towards Gujarat, this week is going to be terrible for lakhs of people in the coastal districts of Saurashtra and Kutch. There is still a delay in reaching the cyclone completely, but it has already started showing its effect. Three people, including two children, died due to strong winds that uprooted trees in these areas. Two cousins (a four-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl) lost their lives when a wall collapsed in Bhuj town, while a large tree fell on their scooter in Rajkot’s Jasdan taluka with her husband sitting on the back seat A woman died.

PM Modi spoke to CM Bhupendra Patel on the phone, assured of all possible help
Talking to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on telephone on Tuesday, PM Modi inquired about the current situation and preparations of the administration regarding Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ in Gujarat. In case of disaster, Gujarat was also assured of full help. CM Bhupendra Patel gave this information through a tweet.
Schools closed in many districts till June 15, 67 trains canceled
Officials said that Section 144 has been imposed in the coastal areas of Kutch district and all schools and colleges have been closed till June 15. Along with this, Western Railway has also decided to cancel about 67 trains passing through Gujarat due to the cyclonic storm. Western Railway terminated its 56 trains going towards Coastal Gujarat before their destination. In a release, it was said that Western Railway is also considering cancellation of some trains in the next three days. About 95 trains are being proposed to be canceled between June 13 and June 15.
It rained in the coastal districts of South and North Gujarat since the morning of June 12.
Officials said that Section 144 has been imposed in the coastal areas of Kutch district and all schools and colleges have been closed till June 15. Parts of coastal districts of south and north Gujarat such as Valsad, Gir Somnath, Bhavnagar and Amreli received light rain on Monday morning.

Gujarat administration is in touch with army and navy
Officials said teams of National and State Disaster Response Force (NDRF and SDRF) have been kept ready in the affected districts and the administration is in touch with the Army, Navy and Indian Coast Guard. The Meteorological Department said that the cyclone is expected to move almost north by the morning of 14 June.
Very heavy rain expected in Kutch, Dwarka and Jamnagar districts on June 15
The Center has directed the state government to evacuate people from the coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch, including Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Morbi. The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Kutch, Devbhoomi Dwarka and Jamnagar districts on June 15.

A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that PM Modi directed senior officials to take all possible measures to ensure that people living in sensitive places are safely evacuated by the state government. According to the statement, PM Modi also directed to ensure the maintenance of all essential services like electricity, telecommunication, health and drinking water and restore them immediately in case of any damage. The Prime Minister also directed that the safety of the animals should be ensured and ordered the setting up of a 24×7 control room.
Bijarjoy is moving towards the coastal districts of Gujarat
In a tweet, the Meteorological Department said, ‘Cyclone alert for Saurashtra and Kutch coast… At 0830 hours on Monday, the cyclone is about 320 km south-west of Porbandar, 360 km south-southwest of Devbhoomi Dwarka, 440 km south of Jakhau port, Naliya. It was located 450 kilometers south-southwest of. It is expected to cross the Jakhau port by the afternoon of June 15.
7500 people were taken to safe places, preparations are on to take about 23 thousand more people
According to the officials, around 7,500 people have been shifted to safer places and the operation to evacuate residents of villages situated up to 10 km from the coast in Kutch-Saurashtra districts will begin on Tuesday. Around 3,000 people from 31 villages in Porbandar and around 1,500 people in Devbhoomi Dwarka have been evacuated to safer places. Kutch District Magistrate Amit Arora said, “Around 3,000 people, mainly fishermen and laborers working at a port, have been shifted to Kandla. Residents of some slums near the sea have also been shifted to Mandvi. Around 23,000 people from villages located within 10 km radius from the coast will be taken to (temporary) shelter homes on Tuesday.

Manorama Mohanty, director of the IMD Ahmedabad centre, said, “The cyclone is expected to make landfall near the Jakhau port. It will reach the coast of Gujarat on June 15 around noon. Before this, winds will blow at a speed of 135-145 kmph to 150 kmph and there will be very heavy rain. He said that a warning of heavy rain has been issued for June 15-16 in Saurashtra-Kutch and other areas. And fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea till June 16.
