IAEA chief to attend second round of nuclear talks(second round ) 

Dubai: The first round of talks between Iran and the US has been held. Now the venue for the second round  (second round )  of talks has also been decided. Iranian officials confirmed on Wednesday that the second round of nuclear talks with the US will be held in Rome. Earlier, there was confusion over where the talks would be held. Iran’s state TV channel has reported about this. This announcement has come at a time when President Masoud Pezeshkian has formally approved the resignation of one of his vice presidents, who was the main negotiator on behalf of Tehran in the 2015 nuclear deal with the world’s powerful countries.

Iran’s President Pezeshkian made the announcement regarding Mohammad Javad Zarif. After this, the state TV channel said that Oman would again mediate the talks. Oman’s foreign minister played the role of mediator in the Iran-US talks in Oman’s capital Muscat last weekend. On Monday, several officials had said that the talks would be held in Rome. Iran, on the other hand, was saying till Tuesday that the talks would be held in Oman itself.

IAEA chief to participate in second round of nuclear talks

The second round of nuclear talks is going to be very important. President Donald Trump called Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Tuesday. Earlier it was expected that the second round of talks could be held here. But now it will be held in Rome. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Mariano Grossi is on a visit to Iran from Wednesday. During Grossi’s visit, there may be talks on what access his inspectors can get under a proposed agreement.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that if no agreement is reached, he will launch air strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Iranian officials are constantly warning that they can try to make nuclear weapons by enriching their uranium reserves.
