Tragic accident caused by fireworks(fireworks)

Nineveh: At least 100 people died and 150 were injured in a fire  (fireworks) that broke out at a wedding ceremony in Hamdania district of Iraq’s Nineveh province late Tuesday night. Giving information on Wednesday morning, Iraqi state media quoted local sources as saying that the death toll may increase further. Local civil defense said a fire broke out at a large event hall in the north-eastern region after fireworks were lit during celebrations, according to state media. Due to which this terrible fire broke out.

State media said preliminary information indicated that the building was made of highly flammable construction materials, causing it to quickly catch fire. Iraq’s civil defense said preliminary reports indicated that fireworks set off during the ceremony caused the fire at the large event hall just outside the northern city of Mosul, about 400 kilometers from the capital Baghdad.

Ambulances and medical teams were dispatched to the site by federal Iraqi authorities and officials from Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region, according to official statements. Eyewitnesses present at the scene said that the fire broke out in the building at around 10:45 pm local time and hundreds of people were present at the time of the incident.
