In order to reduce the cost of farming and to make farmers aware to increase the use of modern technology like drones, a leading drone manufacturer of the country is going to start ‘Drone Yatra’ from Punjab. This yatra will be organized in different parts of the country from December to January. This trip was organized by the country’s leading drone manufacturer company Iyotechworld Aviation Pvt. Ltd. is being launched by Earlier, the company had taken out a journey of 25,000 kilometers across the country in collaboration with other well-known agrochemical companies and government organizations. Now she is going to start this journey again soon, which will be in the form of a campaign to inform about the use of drones and its benefits in agriculture. This journey is likely to last till the end of January.
Directors and co-founders of Iotechworld – Deepak Bhardwaj and Anoop Upadhyay told the news agency, “The purpose of this visit is to provide farmers with easy methods like drones in farming operations, proper spraying of fertilizers, pesticides and spraying of seeds and thereby reducing the cost.” We have to create awareness about the benefits like reduction. The Ministry of Agriculture and Civil Aviation are cooperating in this direction to promote agriculture through drones. At the same time, the Central Government has approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for drones with the aim of increasing the use of drones in agricultural work. Under this, there is a possibility of getting Rs 120 crore for expenditure during 2022-23 to 2023-24.
He said that the drone made by the company for this purpose is named ‘Agribot Drone’, which is capable of significantly reducing the cost of farmers by using ‘machine learning’ or artificial intelligence (AI). With the help of artificial intelligence technology, this drone will spray the same amount of pesticides and medicines required for spraying in a particular part of the field. This will help in maintaining the quality of the soil and reducing the residues of pesticides and medicines in the crop. He said that with the use of this technology, the yield of farmers will increase and their time and cost will be reduced drastically. Apart from this, the contribution of agriculture to the gross domestic product (GDP) can increase by three percent due to the increase in the use of drones in agricultural work.
Bhardwaj, director of this startup company headquartered in capital capital region Gurugram, said that at present the company is operating its business and services in 14 states of the country and its aim is to register its presence across the country. These 14 states include Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh. The weight of a small drone used in agriculture should not exceed 25 kg. In view of this, the weight of this drone has been kept at 14.5 kg. It is possible to load up to 10 liters of pesticides or medicines in the box fitted under the drone and it can also spray seeds. With the help of drones, pesticides or medicines can be sprayed in one acre of field in seven minutes.
