According to the news of Cricbuzz, the left-handed batsman has taken this decision after the recently played 5-match T20 International series against Bangladesh. During the series, the Zimbabwe team had to face defeat by 4-1. The Bangladeshi team had won the first 4 matches of the series. In the last match, Zimbabwe team was successful in achieving a consolation victory.
In this series played against Bangladesh, Williams participated in the first match and the last match. According to the report, the experienced all-rounder has said goodbye to the T20 format, but he will continue to represent his team in the ODI and Test formats.

While sharing information, an official of Zimbabwe cricket team has said that he (Williams) has decided to retire from T20. He has given information related to this to the board as well as his fellow players.

Williams managed to play a total of 81 T20 matches for Zimbabwe during his T20 career. Meanwhile, 1691 runs came from his bat at a strike rate of 126.38. While bowling, he achieved 48 successes.
