Delhi: In the 68th match of IPL 2025 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 110 runs in a one-sided manner. In this match, Hyderabad team batted first and scored 278 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs thanks to Heinrich Klaasen’s century. In response, Kolkata Knight Riders team was all out after scoring 168 runs in 18.4 overs. This is the biggest defeat in terms of runs for Kolkata in the history of IPL. Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head batted brilliantly for SRH Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first. The opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head gave the team a stormy start. Both added 92 runs in 6.5 overs. The team’s first wicket fell in the form of Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed after scoring 32 runs at a strike rate of 200. After this Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen took charge. KKR batsmen crumbled under pressure
Chasing the target of 279 runs, Kolkata looked under pressure from the very beginning. Sunil Narine got a good start but he could not convert it into a big innings and was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 16 balls. De Kock also flopped in this match and was dismissed after scoring 9 runs in 13 balls. After this, no batsman of the team could play on the crease. Captain Rahane (15), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (14) and Rinku Singh (9) were dismissed, while Andre Russell could not even open his account. In the end, Manish Pandey (37) and Harshit Rana (34) reduced the margin of victory by hitting some big shots.
