Neeraj Chopra: India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra (Neeraj Chopra) once again displayed his excellent form and won the Golden Spike Meet 2025 title. Just four days after winning the Paris Diamond League, Neeraj achieved a new milestone by throwing a best throw of 85.29 meters in this competition held on June 24. This competition was a Gold level tournament of the World Athletics Subcontinental Tour, in which 9 athletes participated. Neeraj participated in this competition for the first time and won the title directly.
Excellent performance continues in the 2025 season
In the last two seasons, Neeraj was not able to be a part of this competition due to fitness reasons. Interestingly, his coach Jan Jelenzi has won 9 titles in this meet so far and now Neeraj has also made his place in the same list. 27-year-old Neeraj Chopra has performed brilliantly so far this season.
In May, he finished second in the Doha Diamond League by crossing a distance of 90 meters. After this, by winning the Paris Diamond League and now the Golden Spike Meet title, Neeraj has shown that he is in his rhythm even after the Paris Olympics 2024 and is constantly moving towards new heights.
Now Neeraj will show his strength in Bengaluru
Chopra has participated in Ostrava before, but not in the Golden Spike. He was part of the Asia Pacific team that participated in the IAAF Continental Cup in 2018 and finished sixth with a throw of 80.24 meters. Let us tell you, Weber defeated Chopra in the Doha Diamond League on May 16 and in the Janusz Kusoczynski Memorial Meet in Poland on May 23, but the Indian player overtook him with his first round throw of 88.16 meters in Paris on June 20. Before Paris, Chopra won his last Diamond League title in Lausanne in June 2023 with a throw of 87.66m. Chopra’s next competition will now be the NC Classic which he is hosting in Bengaluru on July 5. Peters and Rohler will also compete in Bengaluru.
