More than 1 lakh people( people ) affected by flood in 12 districts

Guwahati. The flood situation in Assam improved on Wednesday, but one more person lost his life and around 83,000 people ( people )  in six districts are still affected by the natural calamity. This information was given in a government bulletin. According to a report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), one person died due to floods at Rongjuli in Goalpara district. So far seven people have died in the state due to floods this year.

According to the authority, over 82,900 people have been affected by the floods in Barpeta, Kamrup, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and Udalguri districts. It said Barpeta was the most affected by the floods, where 60,700 people were affected. According to the authority, more than 18,600 people in Lakhimpur and around 1,400 people in Sonitpur are facing the brunt of the floods. Till Tuesday, about one lakh 20 thousand people were affected by the flood in seven districts of the state.

According to the report, a total of 12 districts of Assam are in the grip of flood, including Bajali, Barpeta, Biswanath, Darrang, Dhemaji, Goalpara, Jorhat, Kamrup, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and Tamulpur. According to the report of Flood Reporting and Information Management System (FRIMS), 20 revenue circles and 395 villages have been affected by the flood.

The report also states that 106 relief camps have been opened in 78 districts or sub-divisions of the state and the total number of affected animals in 6 districts of the state is 65,759. It has been told in the report that a total of 5 medical teams have been deployed in 5 districts. Two embankments have been breached in Vishwanath and Sonitpur districts. Apart from this, the report also mentions the number of damaged roads in the state, which include 2 in Baksa and 22 in Barpeta.
