Modi on one day tour of Uttarakhand today(Modi)

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi (Modi) has reached Pithoragarh today on a one-day visit to Uttarakhand, where CM Dhami welcomed him. The Prime Minister will offer prayers at Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Dham here and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth about Rs 4,200 crore in Pithoragarh. PM Modi has posted about his visit on social media site X. He wrote, ‘Our government is committed to the welfare of the people of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and the rapid development of the state. To give further impetus to this, I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of many projects in Pithoragarh. There will also be an opportunity to interact with the people in Gunji village here. During this tour, we are also eagerly waiting for darshan and worship at Parvati Kund and Jageshwar Dham of spiritual importance.

Regarding PM Modi’s arrival, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tweeted, ‘Respected Prime Minister, on behalf of all the people of the state, I welcome and congratulate you on your arrival in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Under your able leadership and guidance, religious, spiritual and adventure tourism is getting a new dimension through the construction of road, rail and ropeway in the state. As per your vision, our government is continuously working for the all-round and comprehensive development of the state. Heartfelt thanks to you for your special attachment towards Uttarakhand!’

Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) had issued a statement saying that PM Modi will reach Jolingkong in Pithoragarh district at around 8.30 in the morning, where he will offer prayers at Parvati Kund. The PMO said that the Prime Minister will also take blessings of the holy Adi-Kailash at this place which is famous for its spiritual significance and natural beauty. The Prime Minister will reach Gunji village in Pithoragarh district at around 9.30 am, where he will interact with the local people and will also see an exhibition of local art and products.

According to the statement, he will also interact with Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Border Roads Organization (BRO) personnel. The Prime Minister will reach Jageshwar in Almora district at around 12 noon, where he will perform worship and darshan at Jageshwar Dham. Jageshwar Dham, situated at an altitude of about 6,200 feet, has about 224 stone temples. The statement said that after this the Prime Minister will reach Pithoragarh at around 2.30 pm, where he will inaugurate various development projects worth about Rs 4,200 crore related to areas like rural development, roads, electricity, irrigation, drinking water, horticulture, education, health and disaster management. Will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone.

The projects that the Prime Minister will inaugurate and inaugurate include 76 rural roads and 25 bridges constructed in rural areas under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), 15 buildings of BDO (Block Development Officer) offices in nine districts and buildings constructed under the Central Road Fund. Three roads are being upgraded. The projects whose foundation stone will be laid include the plan for construction of 21,398 poly-houses. This will help in increasing the production of flowers and vegetables and improving their quality.

Apart from this, a scheme for cultivation of high density dense apple orchards and five projects for NH (National Highway) road upgradation, upgradation of State Emergency Operation Center at Dehradun, measures for prevention of landslides at Balinala, Nainital and other infrastructure. The foundation stone of improvement related projects will be laid. The statement said that the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of a 50-bed hospital block in Champawat, Astroturf hockey field in Haldwani Stadium in Nainital and Velodrome Stadium in Rudrapur.
