Kalpana Singh, a former teacher who taught at Nurulhuda English Medium School, had filed a case alleging illegal conversion. The former teacher had alleged that Maulana Umar Gautam, who was in jail on charges of illegal conversion, used to come to school along with other clerics and brainwashed people through arguments and motivated them to convert.

The former teacher also alleged that Hindu children were also taught Kalma in the school, when they opposed it, the school manager first lured them and forced them to convert. When she did not listen to the school manager, she was thrown out of the school by saying good and bad.

In the case of running a school of illegal conversion in the school, News 18 had featured prominently in the past. After which the Sadar Kotwali police had registered a case against three accused on the complaint of former teacher Kalpana Singh, including one of the jailed Maulana Umar Gautam. In a serious case like conversion, the police had registered a case, but even after one and a half months, the accused school manager and his son could not be arrested. In the name of police investigation, it is limited to beating the lines only. According to sources, during the investigation, many important evidences have also been found in the hands of the police including foreign funding in this case.

Let us inform that Maulana Umar Gautam is a resident of Panthua village of Fatehpur district in jail on charges of illegal conversion. After the arrest of UP ATS, Maulana Umar Gautam’s connection with many madrasas of the district came to the fore. Recently, Maulana Hafiz Firoz Alam, a foreigner who runs a school of conversion in the mosque of Ghazipur town of the district, has also been arrested by the police and sent to jail. He was originally from the country of Nepal, who was running a school of conversion illegally for the last 20 years by hiding his identity in Ghazipur town. In that case also the negligence of the police has come to the fore.

Earlier, a case of illegal conversion had also come to light from Purmai village of Khakhreru police station area of ​​the district. Poonam Sonkar, a woman who filed a complaint in the police station, alleged that her husband Vijay Sonkar had gone to Delhi to earn money, where he had converted to Islam under the guise of a Maulana. When he returned home from Delhi, he was pressurizing the entire family to convert to Islam. When he resisted, he was brutally beaten up. The police had registered an FIR in this case and arrested the accused husband and sent him to jail, but have not been able to find the Maulana who converted.

Let us tell you that the Yogi government of the state had approved the Uttar Pradesh Law Against Religion Prohibition Ordinance 2020. After which the government has taken a very tough stand in the matters of conversion.
